We do tend to get into a bit of a pickle when we talk about costume jewellery. Is it really just for wearing with costumes, or if you followed the X Factor, not for wearing, as in the case of Katie Waissel. She had a tantrum because she felt the costume jewellery was too big and making her look stupid. She was right and saved herself. However this type of jewellery, in my view, should not be seen as only for theatre costumes nor should it be associated with the image of cheap and nasty.

Sometimes we also call Costume Jewellery, Fashion Jewellery and, of course, we get all mixed up, thinking this is also the name for cheap jewellery.

This type of jewellery is normally made from beads and glass and silver for the most part. So why are we thinking cheap? I can think of a few designer names where the jewellery is made from these same items and we would never think of them as cheap nor could we buy them low cost.

This means that Costume Jewellery is now as expensive or inexpensive as you choose to make it. There are designer brands which charge an absolute fortune to have thier name on beaded jewellery, whilst if you shop around you can find exquisite items of jewellery in 925 silver with genuine gemstones for less.

Costume jewelry is the complete accessory for casual to elegant dress, and is a wonderful way to express your personality. Beaded costume jewelry is a fun and funky way to express yourself.

Opal is regarded as the popular stone for those born in the month of October, however there are a few reconised alternatives. The most noticeable of these being Tourmaline and Jasper.

The most striking quality of opal is its ability to refract and reflect specific wavelengths of light. The interplay of different wavelengths of light gives opal its unique visual appeal, and makes it one of the most sought-after gemstones in the world at all times.

Precious opal has been a gemstone since Roman times. Opal was included among the noble gems and was ranked second only to emerald by the Romans.

Opal is also regarded as associated as your “Birthstone” for those born between 6 and 7 pm.

October’s Horescope¬† is mostly Libra covering Sept 23 to Oct 23. This has the Gemstone Aquamarine as the most widely accepted gemstone. Libra is an Air sign ruled by Venus, although Saturn and Jupiter also has an influence as the month goes on.
